Honda FCEV concept is a next-generation fuel-cell electric vehicle, this vehicle makes the first debut at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show, and scheduled to be launch in Japan and U.S. in 2015. This Honda FCEV concept has got a futuristic looking design. This vehicle will be gets directly competitor from Toyota's hydrogen-powered FCV. The honda FCEV is pointed out as the successor of the FCX Clarity.
Honda FCEV also come with exciting and modern styling, features a futuristic design which based on themes expressed by Honda’s new Exciting H Design. We can look the similarity of the FCX Clarity from the indented shoulder line and coupe-like profile.
In front, the FCEV appear with bold and stylish that is combined with a hint of Acura NSX. The FCEV has placed the covered rear wheels to gives more aerodynamics.
The Honda FCEV concept powered by a fuel cell-electric hybrid drivetrain which capable to generate output of 100kW. all the fuel-cell powertrain is installed comletely in the engine compartment of the vehicle, its gives more space in cabin and provide space for up to five passengers and their gear. The time to refueling the Honda FCEV is spend time three minutes at a pressure of 70 MPa.
The driving range of Honda FCEV able reach more than 300 miles, its increase of 60 miles than the current fuel-cell vehicle, but the hydrogen refueling infrastructure always the major concern.
It's not yet clear whether Honda will be sell the FCEV in the market or not, but Toyota has already confirmed to sell their own fuel cell vehicles.
The main problem faced by honda is to find hydrogen refueling stations for fuel-cell vehicles, for that Honda has teamed up with General Motors to develope the next generation of fuel-cell systems and hydrogen storage technologies.
