The newest Mazda in 2012 is Mazda cx5,this car will be the first vehicle to use the company’s new SkyActiv technology, which will manifest itself through a 2.0-liter four-cylinder direct injection gas ’SkyActiv-G’ engine, a new powertrain that releases a 13.0:1 compression ratio, variable valve timing and a new exhaust design.CX-5 has been rated at 26 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway for the front-wheel-drive, six-speed manual model, which is good enough to give the small crossover best-in-class fuel efficiency.According to Mazda, the SkyActiv-G powertrain will be 10 percent lighter and 15 percent more fuel efficient than its predecessor, providing a better all-around driving experience than any of the model’s past versions.
CX-5 on the fuel economy is Mazda’s SKYACTIV-G 2.0-liter four-cylinder direct-injection petrol, , which produces 160 horsepower and 155 lb-ft of torque and features a sky-high compression ratio of 13:1 and 2.2-litre twin-turbo diesel, 129kW@4500rpm/420Nm@ 2000rpm. The CX-5′s efficiency is also aided by its relatively low mass, with entry-level models checking in at 3,208 pounds and premium trims ranging up to 3,426 pounds.
