Aston Martin DB9 Vantage for 2012 Most changes have been made to the V8 version, while the V12 model continues unchanged.The Aston Martin DB9 is a high-performance ultra-luxury coupe and Volante convertible. Often praised for its sensuous styling and precise handling, the DB9 is also known for having one of the most distinctive exhaust notes in any sports car. For the V8 model Aston Martin has replaced the optional six-speed Sportshift automated manual transmission with a new seven-speed Sportshift one. Also, a series of updates have been made to the car’s chassis and a new braking system has also been added.

Aston Martin available in Volante (Aston-speak for convertible) form, the DB9 features a 6.0-liter V12 engine producing 470 horsepower at 6,000 rpm, and a torque output of 443 lb-ft at 5,000 rpm. At the same time, the car's six-speed automated manual with a computer controlled clutch has been reprogrammed to allow it to shift faster. These changes combine to make the car three tenths of a second quicker in the 0 to 60 mph sprint, while the six-speed manual cars are only a tenth quicker thanks to the power hike.

Standard features include an adaptive suspension system, 19-inch alloy wheels, automatic climate control, heated leather power seats with memory, six-disc audio system with navigation and satellite radio, Bluetooth wireless connectivity and parking sensors. A wide variety of wheel designs, paint colors, wood trims and interior trim colors can be specified. A thirteen speaker, 1000-watt Bang & Olufsen BeoSound audio system is available. The new Luxury Edition features pearlescent Morning Frost paint, Touchtronic II transmission, forged alloy wheels, silver brake calipers, silver grilles and piano black trim. The Sport Edition, available in either Carbon Black or Quantum Silver, includes Touchtronic II transmission, gloss black painted forged alloy wheels, black grilles, graphite tail pipes, perforated seat inners, silver stitching, polished glass switchgear, piano black trim and a re-mapped sports exhaust providing an even more evocative sound when driving spiritedly.


The 2012 Aston Martin DB9 comes with antilock brakes with brake assist, traction and stability control, front side airbags (which protect head and torso), and front and rear parking sensors. The Volante comes standard with automatically deploying rollover bars.the price is about $200,915
