Sunday, April 22, 2012

The new Mitsubishi mirage 2012 has launched.
Mitsubishi has adopted the philosophy of "simple & clean" while designing the cabin of Mirage and that’s why this hatchback is airy from inside. Featuring black and white trim and metallic accents, the interior of Mirage is attractive. The dashboard is flat and this car sport 3-spoke steering. Mirage is the lightest hatchback released so far. It is spacious enough to accommodate four passengers comfortably.

Mitsubishi has used lightweight materials and reduced the rolling resistance of this car to make it more fuel efficient. The company has also used improved brakes, tires and engine to make Mirage a powerful car. This car makes use of regenerative braking and an auto start-stop system. The width of this car is 1665mm and its length is 3710mm, which makes this hatchback 15mm narrower and 175mm shorter than Mitsubishi Colt. The size of this compact hatchback is same as Toyota Yaris.

The engine used in 2012 Mirage will work with a Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT) gearbox in order to increase the fuel efficiency of this hatchback. The version which available for sale in Thailand will sport a 1.0 liter petrol engine with a mileage of 30 kmpl, while the version which go on sale in India is powered by a 1.2 L petrol engine. Mitsubishi will use its new, improved MIVEC technology in both engines. The engines will also use Auto Stop & Go system. Mitsubishi is yet to release the power figures for both models, but it is expected that the 1.2 L engine will deliver 80 bhp of power and 110 Nm of torque.
